All our other ideals will be worked with, but I feel a strong need to have a starting point of a tangible collaboration.
So if you agree with this starter proposal then the next step is to put down in writing what will be said, shared. Once the "script" is written then a video could be made as well as a brochure put together to present to a CDL school.
Proposal
A One Hour Presentation
to CDL School Students
Purpose:
To
drive home the fact that when a commercial driver is behind the wheel of their
truck, they are THE BOSS. No one, absolutely no one else can tell a driver how
to drive or to drive in any illegal manner nor when THE driver determines circumstance
make it unsafe to drive.
One hr seems eccessive. You seem to want a strong emphasis on this which may offend CDL Schools due to their relstiondhop with truck compsnies. I sgree in principle in many areas other than cdl. Like heslth head n heart. Would be interested in your outline or essay. Will give you support in sny way you go. Might be good idea for trk magz as a tria l article n get feed back. Perhsps s letter to the editor wpould get publushd. I sdmire your passion on this topic.
ReplyDeleteOn trker tips or joy of trucking topics asking Saftey guy for some lists . Each dvr puts in for a weekly topic. I put 10 points on trk n weathr issues to preplan etc. Think sll trucks do this snd would like to get the submissions for review.
Love ur passion on Boss good editorial stuff I bet or s topic on Roaddog Radio n phone in for drivers progrsms.
Thanks for your thoughtful response.
ReplyDeleteThe one hour per topic isn't that long. With an introduction, conclusion, and questions this may leave about 33 minutes of so for the primary subject.
For now I will call each presentation a module. I see us developing many modules on particular subjects. Then 3 or 4 modules could be put together in a couple hour presentation, such as for a safety meeting.
Your reference to schools and truck companies; I do understand the relationships. The title of Who's The Boss may be too much in your face, so I am open to a new title. For now it expressions a basic ideas I want to get across.
If you still have the copy of my book, there is a section of Who's The Boss?!.
I have always intended to send a copy of what I am writing to safety offices in trucking companies and/or USDOT to be sure what I am writing is in fact correct or not.
I look forward to you getting your laptop going! I have difficulty reading what you write with all the typos. I am a bit amazed you are writing as much on your phone.
